The future of intensive tilapia production and the circular bioeconomy without effluents: Biofloc technology, recirculation aquaculture systems, <scp>bio‐RAS</scp>, partitioned aquaculture systems and integrated multitrophic aquaculture

چکیده
Abstract Modern tilapia farming with low use of water aims, as in circular bioeconomy, to reduce inputs and fully reuse waste effluents, closing flows or links economic ecological resources decentralizing production systems (local local consumption). Concerns over diseases, market demand for a clean, sustainable ecologically correct aquaculture, greater more efficient controls, increased predictability repeatability activities, are leading series structural changes the effluents through various closed recirculation nutrients. In recent decades, one most important innovations trends culture is towards characterized this review by several systems, such biofloc technology (BFT), aquaculture (RASs), bio‐RAS, partitioned (PASs split ponds, SPs; pond system, IPRS) integrated multitrophic (IMTA). The future meshes urban agriculture fermentation, where low‐demand will be protagonists disruption industries five main sectors (materials, energy, information, transport food/health), that still today focus on extraction, into model.

Biofloc Production Systems for Aquaculture
Biofloc systems were developed to improve environmental control over production. In places where water is scarce or land is expensive, more intensive forms of aquaculture must be practiced for cost-effective production. There are strong economic incentives for an aquaculture business to be more efficient with production inputs, especially the most costly (feed) and most limiting (water or land)...
متن کاملCompartmentalisation in aquaculture production systems.
Compartmentalisation is a new tool for disease management within a country. In aquaculture, the successful application of compartmentalisation is largely dependent on the system of production and the epidemiology of the disease(s) for which the compartment is being defined. Therefore, compartmentalisation may not be universally applicable across all systems and diseases. The paper examines the ...
متن کاملApplication of Biosecurity in Aquaculture Production Systems
A significant challenge to the expansion of aquaculture production is the outbreak of disease. Potential economic losses from disease outbreaks are significant, and can affect the survival of the industry. The occurrence of disease is a combination of the health of the animal, the condition of the environment, and the presence of a pathogen. The poultry industry has implemented a biosecure prod...
متن کاملBiofloc technology application in aquaculture to support sustainable development goals
Biofloc technology (BFT) application offers benefits in improving aquaculture production that could contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals. This technology could result in higher productivity with less impact to the environment. Furthermore, biofloc systems may be developed and performed in integration with other food production, thus promoting productive integrated syst...
